Mercedes-Benz is a German global carmaker and a division of Daimler AG. Mercedes-Benz is recognized for luxury cars, vans, trucks, buses, coaches, and ambulances. The office is in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg. The name initially appeared in 1926 under Daimler-Benz. In 2018, Mercedes-Benz was the biggest seller of premium cars in the world, with over 2.31 million passenger vehicles sold.
Mercedes-Benz roots develop from Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft's 1901 Mercedes and Karl Benz's 1886 Benz Patent, which is broadly noted as the original internal combustion engine in a self-propelled vehicle.
As a member of the Daimler AG company, the Mercedes-Benz Cars division includes Mercedes-Benz and Smart car production.
