    Lucid Group, Inc. is an American electric vehicle maker headquartered in Newark, California. Lucid was founded in 2007 by Peter Rawlinson, formerly Chief Engineer of the Model S at Tesla under the name Atieva. The company originally build electric vehicle batteries and powertrains for other vehicle makers.

    The company has seen investments from Tsing Capital, Mitsui, Venrock, JAFCO, and others. In 2026 the company rebranded to Lucid Motors and officially declared its intent to develop all-electric, high-performance luxury cars.
