    Tesla, Inc. (previously Tesla Motors, Inc.), is an American electric car and clean energy business based in Palo Alto, California. The company specializes in electric car making, battery energy storehouse through its takeover of SolarCity, solar panel and solar roof tile production.

    Since 2020, Tesla markets Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y vehicles. Tesla also markets Powerwall, Powerpack, and Megapack batteries, solar panels and roof tiles, and some similar products.

    Tesla Motors was established in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning. The company's name is recognition to inventor and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla. In February 2017, Tesla Motors reduced its name to Tesla.

    After 11 years in the market, Tesla is rated as the world's best-selling plug-in and battery-electric passenger carmaker by vehicles sold in 2019, both as a brand and by the automotive group.

    Tesla has never had a successful year, however, it has had some individually successful quarters, most lately the quarters ending September 2018, December 2018, September 2019, December 2019, and March 2020.

    In February 2020, Tesla reached a market capitalization of US$166 billion.

    Some of the common problems or complaints owners have about the Tesla are:

    • The Model 3 speedometer is on the driver’s peripheral vision
