Model overview
The third-generation Sequoia debuted on January 25, 2022, with sales for the 2023 model year beginning in late mid-2022. The new production was shifted to another location, due to the Indiana facility preparing to build two upcoming 8-seat passenger SUVs that will feature hybrid powertrains.
It is built on the body-on-frame GA-F platform. A hybridized 3.4-liter V35A-FTS twin-turbo V6 engine is by default across the lineup, producing 437 hp and 583 lb-ft of torque, with the 5.7-liter 3UR-FE V8 unit being discontinued.
The Sequoia will be available in five trim levels, four of which are legacy from the previous generation: SR5, Limited, Platinum, and TRD Pro, as well as the flagship Capstone luxury-oriented trim. Towing capacity is rated up to 9,000 pounds (4,100 kg).
