Model overview
The Mazda Premacy is a compact MPV that was produced by the Japanese carmaker Mazda from 1999.
The prime generation Premacy was made in Japan and exported to Europe and Asia. A rebadged variant was marketed by Ford in some Asian markets as the Ford Ixion or Ford MAV. The second-generation forward is marketed outside Japan as the Mazda5.
The initial generation Premacy was a five or seven-passenger car, while the following generation adds a third row for up to six riders in American form, and seven riders outside the U.S. Both generations highlight near-flat floors, fold-flat rear seats and folding or detachable second row.
The Mazda 5 is available in Sport, Touring and Grand Touring trim levels. Every Mazda 5 is equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 157 hp and 163 pound-feet of torque. It transfers its power to the front wheels through a five-speed automatic gearbox.
