Model overview
The Hyundai i30 is a small family vehicle produced by the South Korean carmaker Hyundai Motor Company as 2007. The i30 is built on the same platform as the Kia Cee'd and is available as a three-door hatchback (2012–2017), five-door hatchback, estate, and fastback (2017–today).
The i30 is sold beside the fifth-generation Hyundai Elantra in North America as the Hyundai Elantra GT, previously as the Elantra Touring. The second-generation i30 debuted in 2011 at the Frankfurt Auto Show in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Hyundai Elantra GT is available in two distinct trims: Elantra GT and Elantra GT Sport. The base Elantra GT is equipped with a naturally-aspirated 2.0L inline four-cylinder (I4) engine that generates 161 hp (120 kW) and 150 lb-ft of torque. The performance-oriented Elantra GT Sport is equipped with a turbocharged 1.6L I4 engine that generates 201 hp (150 kW) and 195 lb-ft of torque.
The Elantra GT can be paired with either a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional six-speed automatic transmission. Transmission options for the Elantra GT Sport introduce a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional seven-speed automatic transmission.
