Model overview

The Chevrolet SSR (Super Sport Roadster) is a retro-styled convertible pickup truck produced by Chevrolet from 2003 to 2006.

The 2003 and 2004 model years were powered by G.M.s' 5.3 L 300 hp V8 engine, accelerating from 0–60 mph in 7.7 seconds. The 2005 model year used the 390 hp V8 powertrain also found in the Trailblazer, C6 Corvette, Pontiac GTO, and SS paired to a manual transmission option.

For the 2006 model year, the engine highlighted minor modifications that increased its output to 395 horsepower (295 kW) in automatic transmission and 400 horsepower (298 kW) in manual transmission, respectively. Performance enhanced dramatically with the new engine, accelerating from 0-60 mph in 5.29 seconds. Also, GM badges were added to the car.
