Model overview

The BMW X7 is a full-sized seven-passenger luxury SUV produced by BMW and is the largest and most expensive SUV in its range.

The X7 was announced in 2014 but officially unveiled after four years in 2018, with online pre-orders. For dealers, the X7 has been available since March 2019.

BMW offered a preview of the new X7 model in 2017 at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt. The actual production started in 2018 in the US at the BMW US Manufacturing Company.

The BMW X7 is available in two trim levels: xDrive40i and M50i. The first model is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder engine delivering 375 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque and the latter is equipped with a turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 rated at 523 hp and 553 lb-ft. Both trims are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
