Model overview
The Acura ILX is a compact executive car manufactured by Acura, Honda's luxury brand and is based upon the ninth-generation Civic Sedan. The ILX substitutes the Acura CSX, which was marketed solely in Canada.
In 2006 after the RSX model was abandoned, the ILX became Acura's first compact model sold in the United States and also the first gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle made by Acura.
The ILX is equipped with a 201-hp four-cylinder, a front-wheel-drive and eight-speed automatic transmission. The engine is expected to gain 24 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the freeway, which are competitive to non-all-wheel-drive models of their class.
