The Toyota Highlander, also identified as the Toyota Kluger is a mid-size crossover SUV built by Toyota. It is made on the identical platform as adopted on the Camry.

The hybrid drivetrain debuted in 2004 at theNorth American International Auto Show and was introduced to the public in 2005 as a 2006 model. The Hybrid highlights Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive which extends to allow an electric-only powered mode for small distances and speeds. 

The Toyota Highlander Hybrid is offered in four trim levels: LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum. The Hybrid model is equipped with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine joined to electric motors, two motors for front-wheel-drive uses, and three for all-wheel-drive models. The entire system output of 243 horsepower is routed to the driven wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
