Model overview

The Chevrolet Colorado and its equivalent, the GMC Canyon, is a range of compact and mid-size pickup trucks sold by General Motors. They were launched in 2004 to substitute the Chevrolet S-10 and GMC S-15 pickups trucks. The Colorado it's named after the U.S. state with the same name. Along with the Ford Ranger, the GM counterparts were the last pickup trucks on sale till 2012.

The new model of Colorado is equipped with a four-cylinder engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission (a six-speed manual is no longer an option). Other options include a speedy 308-hp V-6 engine with an eight-speed automatic and a 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that produces an impressive 369 lb-ft of torque. While the V-6 and diesel are excellent road partners for Colorado, the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder is limited and grumpy. The base Colorado model with the four-cylinder offers a towing capacity of 3500 pounds. The V-6 Colorado can tow up to 7000 pounds, while the diesel-powered version can tow 7700 pounds.
