Model overview

The Alfa Romeo Tonale is a crossover made by the Italian carmaker Alfa Romeo since spring 2022. It slots between the Alfa Romeo Stelvio in the SUV range. Known internally as the 965, the Tonale is one of the new hybrid-powered models introduced by the brand in six years. The name comes from the Tonale mountain pass in Northern Italy.

In 2022, a rebadged version was launched as the Dodge Hornet, only to the North American market as an entry-level SUV offering from Dodge. The Hornet will be marketed alongside the Tonale in the region with different specs and pricing.

One trim is a newly designed Alfa Romeo-exclusive 160 hp 1.5-liter petrol engine with a variable-geometry turbocharger (VGT) and 48 V hybrid system, mated with a 7-speed TCT dual-clutch transmission and a 48 V 15 kW and P2 electric motor.
