Model overview

The BMW X1 is a range of subcompact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by BMW as 2009.

The E84 X1 is the prime generation model and was first introduced as the BMW Concept X1 in 2008 at the Paris Motor Show. Uses the same platform as the E91 3 Series Touring and highlights comparable sizes like the same 2,760 mm (109 in) wheelbase. It was not launched in the United States until 2012. In 2013, the E84 X1 underwent a facelift, highlighting restyled exterior and interior design parts, as well as adding the BMW EfficientDynamics on all variants.

The X1 comes in two trim levels, the front-wheel-drive X1 sDrive28i or the all-wheel-drive X1 xDrive28i. Every X1 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
