Model overview
The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a retro style, mid-size SUV. Presented as a concept vehicle at the 2003 North American International Auto Show, the FJ Cruiser was confirmed for making after positive consumer response and debuted at the 2005 North American International Auto Show in the final production model.
The FJ Cruiser was manufactured by Toyota subsidiary Hino Motors in Hamura, Japan as 2006 and shares many parts with the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The FJ Cruiser joined the Japanese market in December 2010.
In 2013, Toyota USA declared the 2014 model year Trail Teams edition would be named the "Ultimate Edition" and that the 2014 model year would be the latest for the FJ Cruiser in that market. It remained to be made for sale in other markets such as Australia till its export to that market was ended in 2016. As of 2020, it is still marketed in markets such as the Philippines, Chile, the Middle East, and South Africa.
The "Final Edition" of the FJ Cruiser went on sale in Japan in 2017 and was abandoned in January 2018.
