Model overview
The Toyota bZ4X is a battery electric crossover SUV produced by Toyota. The vehicle was launched in 2021 as the "bZ4X Concept", based on the e-TNGA platform co-developed by Toyota and Subaru, and the original model to be part of their Toyota bZ ("beyond Zero") series of zero-emissions cars.
The sales commenced in mid-2022, with production planned in Japan and China, while in the United States will also start in 2022. The meaning of the "bZ4X" nameplate splits down into two meanings: "bZ", describing the nature of a battery-electric, and "4X" expressing it as a compact crossover SUV, where its numerical digit is inspired from the equivalent-sized RAV4.
The Toyota bZ4X is available in two trim levels: XLE and Limited. The front-wheel-drive delivers 201 horsepower and 196 lb-ft of torque while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive model is a bit more powerful at 214 hp and 248 lb-ft. The bZ4X has an EPA-estimated range between 222 miles and 252 miles depending on the trim and whether it has all-wheel drive.
