The Hyundai Tiburon recognized as the Hyundai Coupé in the European Market is a sports car that was built by the South Korean carmaker Hyundai from 1996 through 2008.
The title "Tiburon", a small variation of "tiburón", comes from the Spanish word for "shark", the given name to the North American production of the car. It was also identified as the Hyundai Coupe in Indonesia and some European markets. In South Korea, it had been branded as the Tuscani and Turbulence.
The Hyundai Tiburon is available in GS, GT, SE, and GT Limited trims. The GS comes powered by a 138-horsepower 2.0-liter inline-4. The following GT, SE or GT Limited trims are equipped with a 2.7-liter V6 evaluated at 172 hp and 181 pound-feet of torque. The GS and GT are available either with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, while the SE can only be paired with a six-speed manual. The GT Limited is only available with the automatic transmission.
