Model overview
The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a mid-size sedan made by the Hyundai Motor Company. It is the second battery-powered vehicle sold under the Ioniq sub-brand, and the fourth model created on the Hyundai Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).
The Ioniq 6 was unveiled in 2022 and it will be made in South Korea. Deliveries are planned to begin in Korea and chosen European markets in late 2022. For the United States market, production is scheduled to start in 2023 and sales will start in March.
The Ioniq 6 shares the platform with the Ioniq 5 and most powertrains. The base model produces 149 horsepower and has a single electric motor powering the rear wheels. Single-motor cars equipped with the Long Range battery pack have 225 horsepower. The more costly 320-hp dual-motor variant delivers all-wheel drive and comes only with the bigger battery setup. Hyundai claims the more effective trim can push the Ioniq 6 to 60 mph in just 5.1 seconds.
