Model overview

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a rear-wheel-drive sports car produced by Hyundai Motor Company, first introduced in 2008, for the Korean market. It is Hyundai's initial rear-wheel-drive sports car and is built on the same platform as the Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan. The Genesis Coupe arrived in the United States in 2009, as a 2010 model. 

With the introduction of Genesis Motors as an independent luxury brand, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe continued branded as a Hyundai and finally was abandoned. Nevertheless, it is supposed to get a new title for the next generation to avoid interference with the luxury brand.

The Hyundai Genesis Coupe is offered in three trim levels: base, R-Spec, and Ultimate. The all rear-wheel-drive sports coupe comes powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine that generates 348 hp and 295 pound-feet of torque. Transmission options include a regular six-speed manual gearbox and an optional eight-speed automatic transmission.
