    The Hyundai Motor Company, a member of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, is South Korea's largest carmaker. It is also the world's seventh-largest carmaker and operates the world's largest integrated automobile production facility in Ulsan, South Korea. The company was established in 1967 and, along with its 32.8% owned subsidiary, Kia Motors, and it's 100% controlled luxury subsidiary Genesis Motors which together comprise the Hyundai Motor Group.

    The Hyundai Sonata is a mid-size vehicle manufactured by the South Korean maker Hyundai since 1985. The first generation Sonata, which was launched in 1985, was a facelifted Hyundai Stellar with an engine upgrade and was removed from the market in two years due to poor consumer reactions. While the original was only marketed in South Korea, with restrained exports to Canada and New Zealand, the second generation of 1988 was broadly exported.
