Model overview

The BMW X4 is a compact premium SUV produced by BMW as 2014 at its South Carolina assembly factory in the U.S. across two generations. The SUV debuted in 2014 at the New York International Auto Show, and next at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition in 2014.

Previous models composed xDrive20i, xDrive28i, xDrive35i, xDrive20d, xDrive30d, and xDrive35d. The M Performance M40i model was stated to appear in 2015 and was officially unveiled in 2016 at the Detroit Auto Show and went on sale the same year.

The BMW X4 comes in two trims. The xDrive30i comes powered by turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 248 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. The M40i is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six generating 382 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. Both are all-wheel drive and are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
