Overview:GMC (General Motors Truck Company), formally the GMC Division of General Motors LLC, is a division of the American vehicle producer General Motors (GM) that essentially focuses on trucks and utility vehicles. GMC markets pickup and commercial trucks, buses, vans, military vehicles, and sport utility vehicles sold worldwide by General Motors.
The Chevrolet Silverado and its mechanically alike cousin the GMC Sierra are a range of full-size and heavy-duty pickup trucks produced by General Motors and launched in 1998 as the follower to the long-running Chevrolet C/K line. The Silverado title was taken from a trim level earlier used on its predecessor, the Chevrolet C/K pickup truck from 1975 through 1998.
