Model overview
The Jeep Patriot (MK74) is a front-engine five-door compact crossover SUV produced and sold by Jeep, having debuted with the Jeep Compass in April 2006 at the New York Auto Show for the 2007 model year. Both vehicles, as well as Dodge Caliber shared the same GS platform.
The Patriot is powered by a base engine of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder generating 158 horsepower and 141 pound-feet of torque and comes with front-wheel drive only. The uplevel powertrain is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder ranked at 172 hp and 165 lb-ft of torque and it's available on front-wheel-drive.
A five-speed manual gearbox is the default transmission for both powertrains. The optional automatic for the 2.0-liter Patriot is a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the 2.4-liter engine is mated with a six-speed conventional automatic.
