Model overview

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive vehicles manufactured by Daimler AG. Launched in 1993 as a follower for the 190 (W201) series, the C-Class was the shortest model in the marque's line-up till the W168 A-Class appeared in 1997.

The C-Class is produced at Mercedes-Benz plants in Sindelfingen and Bremen, Germany as well as many satellite plants in other countries. The initial C-Class (W202) sedan was created in June 1993 and the first second-generation (W203) in July 2000. The C-Class has been available with a four-wheel drive (i.e. 4Matic) option as 2002. The third generation (W204) debuted in 2007 while the latest generation C-Class (W205) appeared in 2014.

Though originally available as a sedan and a station wagon, the W203 line in 2000 lanched a fastback coupé (SportCoupé) model that, when facelifted, became the Mercedes-Benz CLC-Class. The CLC-Class continued in production until 2011 when a new W204 C-Class coupé followed it for the 2012 model year.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class is available in the following trims: C 300, C 300 4Matic, AMG C 43, AMG C 63 and AMG C 63 S. The C 300, AMG C 63 and AMG C 63 S are rear-wheel-drive, while the C 300 4Matic and AMG C 43 are all-wheel-drive. All powertrains are paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The C 300 and C 300 4Matic comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder powertrain (255 horsepower, 273 lb-ft of torque). You also receive LED headlights, a power tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, a power-closing trunk lid, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and simulated leather padding.
