Model overview

The Kia Soul EV, also identified as the Kia e-Soul, is an all-electric subcompact SUV produced by Kia Motors. The official range stated by the US Environmental Protection Agency for the 2020 Kia Soul EV model is about 243 miles (391 km).

The first generation model began in South Korea in 2014, following the European market and the U.S. later that year. Originally, it was marketed exclusively in California, Oregon, and some Eastern states, like New York, New Jersey, and Maryland. Global sales passed 10,000 units in 2016, with Europe as the primary market, especially in Germany.

A second generation debuted in 2019 for the 2020 model year and marketed in both Europe and the United States.

The Kia Soul is available in 6 trim levels: LX, S, X-Line, GT-Line, EX, and GT-Line Turbo. Most are equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. The LX comes by default with a six-speed manual transmission. A CVT automatic is optional on the LX and by default on all other trims with the 2.0-liter powertrain. All Souls are front-wheel-drive, all-wheel-drive not begin possible.
