Chevrolet Cobalt specs

Model overview

The Chevrolet Cobalt is a compact vehicle launched by Chevrolet in 2004 for the 2005 model year. The Cobalt followed both the Cavalier and the Prizm as Chevrolet's compact vehicle. The Cobalt was available as a coupe, sedan, and as a sport compact version called the Cobalt SS. Alike the Chevrolet HHR and the Saturn ION, it was based on the General Motors Delta platform.

A Pontiac variant was marketed in the U.S. under the G5 name for 2007–2009. The G5 substituted the Cavalier-related Pontiac Sunfire. While the Cobalt was available as a coupe and sedan, the G5 was only available as a coupé in the U.S.

The Chevrolet Cobalt was powered by a 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder producing 155 hp and 150 pound-feet of torque. A five-speed manual is the default transmission, with a four-speed automatic only possible for the LS and LT trims.
