Model overview

The Acura TL is a compact premium automobile that was produced by Acura. It debuted in 1995 to follow the Acura Vigor and was badged for the Japanese-market from 1996 through 2000 as the Honda Inspire and from 1996 until 2004 as the Honda Saber. 

The TL was the best-selling model until it was surpassed by the MDX in 2007. In 2005, it stood as the second best-selling premium sedan in the U.S. market following the BMW 3 Series, but sales have declined since then. Four generations of the Acura TL were created, with the final fourth generation TL debuting in 2008 as a 2009 model and ceasing making in 2014 when it was followed together with the TSX by the TLX.

The Acura TL is offered in two main trim levels: TL and TL SH-AWD. The entry-level is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 280 horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that sends the power to the front wheels.
